“Until We Meet Again” is a visual tribute to my late dog, Deedee --- who was by my side for sixteen years. She was a half King Charles Spaniel and half Sheltie with a very gentle, tender, and loving personality. Deedee was a serene yet playful creature, always ready for kisses, cuddles, or a moment of shared happiness. Her presence fulfilled my life with unconditional love. This artwork is a profound and spiritual exploration of the relationship between an owner and their dog, examining the concept of the gaze. Layering my own eyes with hers softens the boundaries between a human and animal perception, between the one who looks and the one who loves without hesitation. The orange and pink skies invoke a calm and heavenly-like space, symbolizing a peaceful farewell, and where the love between us transcends beyond physical loss.
